<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
Ok so this won't me much of a Waiting on Wednesday as I have no working title or an actual picture to share with you guys.....but my pick this week is Julie Kagawa up coming new book set in the world of iron fey BUT in Ethan'v voice. How amazing is that! I will definitely miss hearing the story told in Meghan's voice or Ash's, but I'm sure Ethan's story will be just as epic and awesome as the tales before. I'm also over the moon that Julie has said that familiar characters will make a cameo =] I really cannot wait to see what this story enfolds into.</div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Ahhhh guess what I found today at Waterstones Blackpool......Yep that's right City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare =] I have no idea why it's out early but I'm so excited about it and can't wait to devour it. It also has the exclusive 'A Dark Transformation' inside, the story of how Jonathan Morgenstern became Sebastian Verlac. I cannot wait to find out how the story developed and how the characters grow, it's going to be epic I know it is. I will let you all know how awesome it is when i'm done.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I don't know where I've been but I've just heard the most exciting news ever and that is... On the 28th August Winter's Passage and Summer's Crossing will be available together in an anthology called The Iron Legends. As well as these two awesome novella's being together there will also be a brand new one called Iron's Prophecy and exclusive additional content that isn't anywhere else...like the FIRST CHAPTER of the NEW IRON FEY BOOK, coming this Fall. How epic is that! Another Iron Fey book. Ahhh i'm soo excited. Just the other day I thought it was all over, but now a whole new story to love and dive right into. I've heard that this new story will be about Meghan's Brother and I literally cannot wait to find out where his story will go and how he will develop.</span>KelseyAnnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15255185988683555176noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6705488900996156461.post-34498547974860436772012-03-21T13:16:00.000+00:002012-05-30T12:05:00.729+01:00Waiting On Wednesday<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<em><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Within the walls of Baalboden, beneath the shadow of the city’s brutal leader, Rachel Adams has a secret. While other girls sew dresses, host dinner parties, and obey their male Protectors, Rachel knows how to survive in the wilderness and deftly wield a sword. When her father, Jared, fails to return from a courier mission and is declared dead, the Commander assigns Rachel a new Protector, her father’s apprentice, Logan—the same boy Rachel declared her love for two years ago, and the same boy who handed her heart right back to her. Left with nothing but fierce belief in her father’s survival, Rachel decides to escape and find him herself. But treason against the Commander carries a heavy price, and what awaits her in the Wasteland could destroy her.</span></em></div>

Logan is determined to protect her, but when his escape plan goes wrong and Rachel pays the price, he realizes he has more at stake than disappointing Jared.</span></em></div>

<em><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">As Rachel and Logan battle their way through the Wasteland, stalked by a monster that can’t be killed and an army of assassins out for blood, they discover romance, heartbreak, and a truth that will incite a war decades in the making.</span></em></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Doesn't that sound fantastic. I love books like this, it's right up my alley. The whole warrior heroine fighting against evil with swords is my FAVORITE type of book. The cover is beautiful and gives us an idea of how strong Rachel is. The cover actually reminds me of the Angelfire series, it could be the cover for the 3rd book, but It's still different enough that it wouldn't confuse people. </span></div>

<u><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My Review:</span></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I had literally waited months and months for this book to too
be released, so as expected as soon as it came through my door I ripped the
packaging open and devoured it like there was no tomorrow (It’s not out in the UK
yet so I had to have it shipped, took far too long!). To say my expectations were
incredibly high would be the understatement of the century and fortunately it lived
up to every single one AND was better than I could every have imagined. It was
by far my favourite books of the series....who am I kidding I don’t have a favorite I love them all! </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Words are literally failing me for this review. I can’t
express how truly epic this book was and how insanely awesome the plot was, it
really did blow my mind. There were parts of the book that felt like an Indian
Jones movie with the whole temple part, which was fantastic and made the book
all the more exciting. The shocking twists and turns left me reeling and asking
myself ‘what the hell has just happened!’ But the most shocking off all was the
surprise character! I never expected that craziness until about 30 pages before
the characters appearance, when I just got a feeling that shit was about to go
down and it most certainly did! I think I actually gasped out load and my hand
flew to cover my mouth, it was that good! </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The character development in this book was never ending.
Every single person in this book you came to know so much better and saw a side
of them that you didn’t think was there. I loved Ash and Pucks interactions,
they where pure genius together. I found myself laughing out loud at the things
they did or said and looked forward to every moment they had together, it’s the
perfect bromance. Of course there’s a lot more of Grimalkin, which everyone was
really looking forward to, that cat is seriously one of the best characters I’ve
ever come across! I really did miss the presence of Meghan and I missed the
story being told in her perspective, but I couldn’t get enough of Ash’s perspective
it was so insightful and gave you a better understanding of him and it let you
get to know him so much better, which was great! Even though Meghan wasn’t the
main character of this book she still made appearances and when she was there
it was fantastic and you could feel the tension between her and Ash it was wonderful.
</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I seriously couldn’t get enough of this book and had it read
in a just over a day. I adored it; it was the perfect ending to this perfect
series, it couldn’t have been any better and although I’m sad it’s ended the
ending left me feeling hugely satisfied and actually sobbing knowing it was
then end.</span></div>KelseyAnnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15255185988683555176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6705488900996156461.post-6647030152068862102012-01-11T18:47:00.004+00:002012-05-30T12:05:00.772+01:00Desperately Wanting Wednesday<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I adored the 1st book in the series, Angelfire. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of 2011. It was everything I love and so much more and i KNOW Wings of the Wicked will deliver the same and will definitely become one of my favorites this year, I just can't wait till it's out! </span></div>

So I've come up with some goals and resolutions regarding the blog that i'm bringing in immediately. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Since I only started blogging this time last year I didn't have any goals or anything like that I just came into the whole thing feet first not really knowing what I was doing and just winging it, hoping i was doing it right. I was on again off again, I wasn't consistent, I didn't take it as seriously as I should have done and how i wanted to but that changes NOW. I want to be reliable, I want to be consistent and I want to be a more efficient blogger. So to achieve this I've set myself a few goals and schedule's to get me to where I want to be.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><u>Reading Goals 2012</u></span><br />
<br />
<ol>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I'm going all out with a reading challenge of 100 books this year! <i><span style="font-size: x-small;">yes I know this may not seem like a lot of books to most of us, but I have to take work into consideration. I work 5 days a week, all day and don't have a lot of time to myself at the moment, so 100 books is a lot when you think about work.</span></i></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I've challenged myself to read 15 debut authors this year. <i><span style="font-size: x-small;">15 is the minimum obviously, more than likely it will be more.</span></i></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I also want to read 10 sophomore authors. <span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Like above 10 is the minimum, this is likely to be higher when I've done.</i></span></span></li>
</ol>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><u>Blogging Goals 2012</u></span></div>
<div>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Stick to my schedule! <span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Schedule at the bottom of this post.</i></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Be more reliable, be consistent! <span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>don't be flakey, don't go missing for weeks at a time.</i></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I'm changing my rating system from out of 5 to out of 10. <span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>The reason for this is simply that 5 is way to hard to work with. Books are that different that to give all good books a 4 or a 5 for me isn't right. So now with the 10 it will make giving a book a rating so much more reliable and more truthful.</i></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">At the beginning of each month I'll post a 'This Months Reading Pile' post with my pre-chosen books that i'll be reading in that month. <span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>This is to cut down on the time i spend wasting trying to choose a book to read. It will also let my readers know what to look out for and what's coming up soon. This is subject to change only in specific situations like if i receive an ARC and it needs to be read.</i></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I need to be more involved in the community. <span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Communicate more, make more friends, just generally being more involved and more of a part of this great community.</i></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Make my own features, come up with post ideas and just bring awesome to the blog.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Actually use my YouTube channel. Make videos. Expand my blog and name. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Grow my readers and engage with them more. Get them more involved. <i><span style="font-size: x-small;">(not literally plant them and wait lol, get more awesome people to follow me and read all of my crazy thoughts. get them involved by getting them to choose books, give me ideas just listen to what they have to say)</span></i>.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Better my reviews, my writing skills and just continue to grow and become better.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Like I've said before take my blog sooo much more serious.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Continue to grow my publicity contacts and keep them up to date with my reviews for them.</span></li>
</ol>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><u>My Blog Schedule </u>(More will be added this is just a starter)</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Mon: Review</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Tue:</span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Sun: In my mailbox.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Things will be added to this, this is just a starter schedule. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">At the start of each month on the 1st I'll be doing the 'This Months Reading Pile'.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">OK so this has been my long long list of goals and changes so thanks for getting to the end...if you did and I'll stop my rambling and let you go.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"> </span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIh-A0T1jTMS7nZMUBBYvDZBUVWCO0Ptml6ykegzdVNKdK1bVqlOLRHI0ARFbE-UBfOPIKWPJMVHTYDHXQo-NrIdDhO0gmf36BIL1vQ3U4tWqHi127eUdsf0CeYCfoMQwMiHNNzuglDMWG/s1600/cassclarex-inset-community.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIh-A0T1jTMS7nZMUBBYvDZBUVWCO0Ptml6ykegzdVNKdK1bVqlOLRHI0ARFbE-UBfOPIKWPJMVHTYDHXQo-NrIdDhO0gmf36BIL1vQ3U4tWqHi127eUdsf0CeYCfoMQwMiHNNzuglDMWG/s1600/cassclarex-inset-community.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Isn't it beautiful. It is by far my favorite cover in the series other than city of bones (topless Jace need I say more!) I love everything about it. Here is a little teases to tide you over until may:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
Simon stood and stared numbly at the front door of his house.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
He'd never known another home. This was the place his parents had brought him home to when he was born. He had grown up within the walls of the Brooklyn row house. He'd played on the street under the leafy shade of the trees in the summer, and had made improvised sleds out of garbage can lids in the winter. In this house his whole family had sat shivah after his father had died. Here he had kissed Clary for the first time.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
He had never imagined a day when the door of the house would be closed to him. The last time he had seen his mother, she had called him a monster and prayed at him that he would go away. He had made her forget that he was a vampire, using glamour, but he had not known how long the glamour would last. As he stood in the cold autumn air, staring in front of him, he knew it had not lasted long enough.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
The door was covered with signs—Stars of David splashed on in paint, the incised shape of the symbol for Chai, life. Tefillin were bound to the doorknob and knocker. A hamesh, the Hand of God, covered the peephole.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
Numbly he put his hand to the metal mezuzah affixed to the right side of the doorway. He saw the smoke rise from the place where his hand touched the holy object, but he felt nothing. No pain. Only a terrible empty blankness, rising slowly into a cold rage.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
He kicked the bottom of the door and heard the echo through the house. "Mom!" he shouted. "Mom, it's me!"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
There was no reply—only the sound of the bolts being turned on the door. His sensitized hearing had recognized his mother's footsteps, her breathing, but she said nothing. He could smell acrid fear and panic even through the wood. "Mom!" His voice broke. "Mom, this is ridiculous! Let me in! It's me, Simon!"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
The door juddered, as if she had kicked it. "Go away!" Her voice was rough, unrecognizable with terror. "Murderer!"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"I don't kill people." Simon leaned his head against the door. He knew he could probably kick it down, but what would be the point? "I told you. I drink animal blood."</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
He heard her whisper, softly, several words in Hebrew. "You killed my son," she said. "You killed him and put a monster in his place."</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"I am your son—"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"You wear his face and speak with his voice, but you are not him! You're not Simon!" Her voice rose to almost a scream. "Get away from my house before I kill you, monster!"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"Becky," he said. His face was wet; he put his hands up to touch it, and they came away stained: His tears were bloody. "What have you told Becky?"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"Stay away from your sister." Simon heard a clattering from inside the house, as if something had been knocked over.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"Mom," he said again, but this time his voice wouldn't rise. It came out as a hoarse whisper. His hand had begun to throb. "I need to know—is Becky there? Mom, open the door. Please—"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"Stay away from Becky!" She was backing away from the door; he could hear it. Then came the unmistakeable squeal of the kitchen door swinging open, the creak of the linoleum as she walked on it. The sound of a drawer being opened. Suddenly he imagined his mother grabbing for one of the knives.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
Before I kill you, monster.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
The thought rocked him back on his heels. If she struck out at him, the Mark would rise. It would destroy her as it had destroyed Lilith.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
He dropped his hand and backed up slowly, stumbling down the steps and across the sidewalk, fetching up against the trunk of one of the big trees that shaded the block. He stood where he was, staring at the front door of his house, marked and disfigured with the symbols of his mother's hate for him.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
No, he reminded himself. She didn't hate him. She thought he was dead. What she hated was something that didn't exist. I am not what she says I am.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
He didn't know how long he would have stood there, staring, if his phone hadn't begun to ring, vibrating his coat pocket.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
He reached for it reflexively, noticing that the pattern from the front of the mezuzah—interlocked Stars of David—was burned into the palm of his hand. He switched hands and put the phone to his ear. "Hello?"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"Simon?" It was Clary. She sounded breathless. "Where are you?"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"Home," he said, and paused. "My mother's house," he amended. His voice sounded hollow and distant to his own ears. "Why aren't you back at the Institute? Is everyone all right?"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"That's just it," she said. "Just after you left, Maryse came back down from the roof where Jace was supposed to be waiting. There was no one there."</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
Simon moved. Without quite realizing he was doing it, like a mechanical doll, he began walking up the street, toward the subway station. "What do you mean, there was no one there?"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"Jace was gone," she said, and he could hear the strain in her voice. "And so was Sebastian."</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
Simon stopped in the shadow of a bare-branched tree. "But he was dead. He's dead, Clary—"</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
"Then you tell me why he isn't there, because he isn't," she said, her voice finally breaking. "There's nothing up there but a lot of blood and broken glass. They're both gone, Simon. Jace is gone. . . ."</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-size: 14px; line-height: 24px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 5px;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Amazing right?? I literally cannot wait for this to come out, it has to be my most anticipated release of the year and the years only just begun!</span></div>KelseyAnnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15255185988683555176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6705488900996156461.post-21580132219210958302011-11-21T10:00:00.000+00:002012-05-30T12:05:00.716+01:002012 Sophomore Reading Challenge<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The awesome Shanyn at <a href="http://chickloveslit.com/2011/11/sophomore-reading-challenge.html">Chick Loves Lit</a> is hosting the 2012 Sophomore Reading Challenge, which is basically the Debut Author's from this year's second books released in 2012. (if that makes any sense at all lol).</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">When I found out about this challenge I was so psyched to be able to keep up with the Debut authors I've grow to love in a challenge. I'm really looking forward to this challenge since there are soo many awesome sophomore books coming out in 2012.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So without further ado here is my ten sophomore choices:</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Since I haven't done an In My Mailbox in ages I've decided to add the last couple of weeks together and just make one big post instead. As what I like to refer to my time absent as 'real life getting in the way' I haven't been able to be as present as I would have liked, although I have always kept updated with everyone else's blogs and making sure I'm up to date. I would just like the say a huge thank you from the guys and girls at Macmillan for all the books they have sent my way even when I've not been able to blog. I have read all of them and will be knocking out the reviews one after the other! So without further ado lets get on to what I've received in the post the last few weeks.</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2012 is nearly upon us so I've decided to join the 2012 Debut Author challenge, hosted by Kristi at <a href="http://www.thestorysiren.com/2011/11/2012-dac-info.html">The Story Siren</a>, for the 1st time ever! There are soo many books to choose from that it literally took me a whole day to figure out which ones to use for the challenge and this is what I came up with:</span><br />
<br />

</ol>
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I chose only 15 as I didn't want to over do it on my 1st time doing a challenge and I thought that it was a realistic number for me. As time goes on i'll link up the reviews I do here.</span></div>

It was intense, it was shocking, it was everything a great book should be and more and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a book with a mega creepy factor and a suspense filled thriller. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">The unbecoming of Mara Dyer left me reeling countless time with it's plot twists ans turns and it's unwavering ability to leave me confused, breathless and with a generally WTF is going on feeling and I love every second of it. It's one of those books that you really can't explain to anyone because YOU yourself STILL don't know what's going on even after you've finished the book. Some people may not like that but I loved it, it's so rare in books these days and so unique that it worked for me. The whole book felt like just the beginning of one mega book, which I think is the feeling Hodkins was going for since at the end of the novel it says end of volume 1 (which I take as vol 1 of the whole book, you know what I mean?) instead of book 1.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">

In simple words this book rocked my world.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">Ahhh the character, something I can actually talk about with some semblance of an actual thought. The character where a huge factor to why I loved this book. Every single person in this book I believed, every last one of them could have been someone I know and I loved that, it made it all the more real for me. I adored how Mara's family where all a huge part of the book and where actively involved in her life. Way to many YA books don't have the family involved at all, which really isn't realistic and not true to teen life. That was a big plus for me and made the book all the more relatable.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">Mara was amazing she wasn't one of those 'i'll waif for the guys to come and save me' she was hardcore and kick-ass and someone I'd love to know and have around (well except for that one thing right? lol).</span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">Noah Shaw (insert sigh) where to begin! That boy has skill, hotness and all around awesomeness coming from every pore on his hot body. Throughout the whole book he was smooth, clever, witty, unkempt, caring and have I mentioned hot! I could toot this guys horn all day ;) but i'll stop there before the review becomes x rated. If you don't read this book for any other reason but for Noah Shaw then it's a mighty fine reason in my eyes.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">The tension between Mara and Noah was great, just the right amount to keep you wanting more and to sigh out loud when you thought something was about to happen but it didn't. I loved them together the way they spoke to each other the insults everything. they kept each other balanced.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">A minor character I LOVED was Jamie with his all around coolness and his witty awesome lines such as "A certain unkempt bastard with a panty-dropping simle?" that kept me laughing and smiling pages after said line.There sound have been sooo much more of him but hopefully in the next installment he'll be more involved.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">Mara's brothers Daniel and Joseph were amazing, you could tell from the get go how much these 3 cared for one another. Daniel melted my heart with his worrisome ways and his protectiveness and Joseph made me laugh out loud with his 'networking' and his 'stock' as his young age. I'm so glad they where involved through out the story and hope they still are in the next book. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">The way these characters interact with each other was so well written and though out that at times it felt like they where real people and could actually have been in the room with me. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-top: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">

I cannot wait till next year to find out what happens, it's too much suspense for me to handle!</span></span></span></div>

My Mum actually does like YA and has been reading some of my books, so she will sit there and listen to me ramble on and on about a book. <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><u>Written by:</u></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"> Veronica Roth</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><u>Series:</u> Book 1</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><u>Published:</u> Out on the 3rd May 2011 by Harper Collins</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><u>Synopsis from goodread:</u></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.</span><br />

</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><u>My Review:</u></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">AMAZING! This book kept me up all night trying to figure out where it was going to go. I found myself saying ‘ok just this last chapter and I’ll go to bed’ but after every single chapter I couldn’t bring myself to put it down! I lost countless hours of sleep to this book, but every single one was worth it. This book comes with a huge recommendation from me, but also a warning to younger readers. This book contains a lot of violence, not for the faint hearted, but the author hasn’t just written it in for violence sake, every act was done for a reason which I loved about this book. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Veronica Roth has created a spectacular dystopian world that I could not get enough of; its beautifully written and exceptionally well thought out. The whole idea of the Factions and the names of each one is pure genius. I love how I actually chose my own Faction before the book really got started, I’m sure I’m not the only one who has done this. Each and every one of them fascinated me beyond belief and I found myself actually searching the words to find their actual meaning, giving the Factions even more depth. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Roth’s writing is extremely descriptive and flows so well that the book is over in a flash. It’s actually hard to believe that this is a debut novel with how well written it is. Everything that she has written has been written for a purpose and not just thrown in as a filler. This novel contains so much that it’s impossible to talk about all in a single review without giving anything away. The main themes in this book is the decisions we have to make as individuals and the consequences they have to us and others, betrayals that we may or may not have seen coming and an unexpected romance (I adore the fact that this is actually a sort of side plot, not the main one). </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">The characters for me are the huge winners; they are what made the book spectacular for me. Tris is one of the best protagonists I have ever read. She starts of as a weak, quite girl but grows into a strong brave woman at just 16. I felt everything she felt throughout the novel which made it even better for me. Another character I adored is Four, Tris’ mentor; he is so complex that even at the end of the novel you just know he has so many more layers we are yet to find out. His character development was phenomenal! I did not expect the direction his character was going in at all. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">There are so many other characters that we are introduce to that you would believe it to be easily confusing but surprisingly Roth pulls it off remarkably well that we are never left wondering who the character is. Every single character has faults and imperfections which in my eyes only make them more believable and interesting, making the novel outstanding. I felt myself empathise with many characters, feeling sorry for them, hating and loving the people in this book. It was such an emotional ride which I loved every second of. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">The ending of this book was everything I wanted and more! It was action packed, with fighting and death, heartbreaking and in a way heart warming and led nicely into a sequel. This novel left me thinking about it for days afterwards; I just could not get it out of my head! I highly highly recommend getting this book AS soon as it comes out! You will not be disappointed at all.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">As a last note I’d like to say again that this book contains a lot of violence not for the younger reader.</span><br />
